A Perfectly Legitimate Response

“When you’re still too young to shave, optimism is a perfectly legitimate response to failure.” ~Stephen King On Writing (40)

Why we ought to be optimists no matter how old we are:

We live in a world of cynics.

  1. My favorite quote from Stephen King (not sure where this came from, so this is not an exact quote):
“Writing a novel is like padlding from New York to Boston in a bathtub. It’s not a surprise that a lot of them don’t make it. What’s surprising is that so many of them do.”

Which, if not optimistic per se, certainly encourages persistance.

What are your thoughts on life, the universe, and everything?
