That Luther was a Funny Guy
Here’s another one I got from reading a biography of Katharina Von Bora, Martin Luther’s wife. In a letter to her from February 1, 1546, he wrote:
I drink Naumburg beer because its taste is similar to that of Mansfield, which you commended to me. I like it a lot; in the morning it gave me three bowel movements in three hours.
If only he’d known that his private letters to his wife would become the talk of theologians, historians, and bloggers.
